Thousand Hills State Park, Kirksville, Missouri

October 21, 2017

We stayed in Thousand Hills State Park,  in Kirksville, Missouri. I had a conference there Wednesday through Friday, October 18 - 20, 2017.  But we stay there through Sunday, 10/22/2017. This was a place we absolutely loved. We were wondering why there where there only two campgrounds. That is because there is so much space between you and the next camper.  This so far has been the nicest place we have stayed.  They have clean and newer facilities. We could have rented a boat or canoe, but they were closing up for the season. So if you want to enjoy the water and area, go there before mid October.

We got to walk on 2 of the smaller trails that were marked. There is a red trail that is 10 miles long, that takes you around the whole park and lake, but walking time was 10 hours and we were not quite up to that walk. We did the 1.5 mile and the half mile trail, which were lovely.
