While in Owatonna, Minnesota, we visited the city of Owatonna. We found a neat book store and purchased a book for Kim to read in her series. We also walked around and did some shopping. We were here in Minnesota from July 13 - 18, 2018.
We had the opportunity to visit the Mall of America, located in Bloomington, Minnesota. We decided to go with the unlimited rides, and the Flyover of America. Was able to use my military discount and only spent $80. The Flyover of America was well worth the money it would have cost to purchase separately. We did the roller coasters and ferris wheel. It was a super awesome day.
While at the mall we ate at Bubba Gumps Shrimp Company. We got the 4 shrimp basket and the macaroni and cheese with shrimp. Delicious.
We visited the American Girl doll store. We thought about our grand daughters Lili and Isabel. We also cruised through the Lego Store. I could have gone broke just shopping there.
We drove to visit the Spam Museum while in Austin, Minnesota. We walked through town and visited a bike shop and stopped in another book store. We meet a book author there Judi Bergen, and of course purchased her book "Longing to Belong". It was really cool to meet someone who had written a book. I was thrilled. We talked to the owner and the author for some 30 minutes. It would be cool if we were mentioned in her second book.
River View campground has a very nice shower and bathroom facility. This is a fully shaded area, except at the top of the hill where the pool is located. The pool is mostly clean, and well maintained. The sites are literally side by side, the concrete pad you have for your picnic table is what separates the spaces. Although right next to your neighbor, it was mostly quiet except on the weekends. This is also a location for full time residents, some of the sites were well maintained, others were not.
There is excellent WiFi, we were able to update our web page as well as watch a movie on Netflix, and Vudu. We were able to pick up about 10 TV channels. There is 30 / 50 amp electric on the sites, but they need updating. You have full hook up here, with water and sewer. It was difficult to dump our tanks as the water was flowing uphill to drain.
The bridge is out that accesses the site from the route we took, so you have to find alternate routes to arrive.
