Corn Palace, Mitchell, South Dakota

We have arrived in South Dakota. We will be in South Dakota from July 19 - August 1, 2018. What a wonderful drive to see the hills and green space. I am sure that along the way there were Indian tribe locations. We stopped in Chamberlin, South Dakota, and saw the Akta Lakota culture center and museum. What a shame the things we did to the Indian nation. Just reading the inserts and tablets and information center brought tears to my eyes.

On our trip we stopped at Dakota Campground, which is located in Mitchell, South Dakota. This was an excellent stop for one night. Full hookups. Would be great to stay about a week just to see the sites. We do not know if they have Wifi, but it was a nice clean pool. It is situated right off of Interstate 90 so there is some road noise, but nothing some white noise does not drown out.

Mitchell, South Dakota is famous for the Corn Palace. We stopped here for a few hours to take in the palace and learn about the beginnings and what the future holds. We took lots of pictures of course. This is a city rich with Indian culture and more. We will be visiting Rapid City in the coming weeks, there is always next year.
