Carrabelle, Florida

March 2, 2019

We have been in Carrabelle, Florida at Ho Hum RV Park doing our camp host duties since October 28, 2018. We will be here till March 24, 2018, when we head up to our next work camping location in Lee, New Hampshire.

Wifi and phone service here were good. Wifi did disconnect at times because of continuous work from the hurricane repair.  Construction on the rear of the office finally started on February 18, 2019.  Recreation room was used for laundry, but it was clean. Restrooms were also very clean. This location is about an 40 minutes from a Walmart and any entertainment. The town of Carrabelle, FL is a nice little place to visit.  Sites at HO Hum are very close you have 1 foot from awning extension to the next RV.  This location is located right off of Hwy 98, which is the only highway between all points along the coast.  Traffic is busy during the day, but is quiet at night.

While here, we have had the opportunity to visit with my son and daughter who live about 4 hours away in Land O Lakes, FL.

We also visited Tallahassee on numerous occasions to eat or shop or visit local attractions.

This location gave us our first work camp position, and a preview of whether we want to live in Florida when we decide to settle down and become adults again.

We went to the Appalachicola Seafood Festival on November 11, 2018. We got to see local vendors and eat some great seafood

Kim made a full Thanksgiving meal in the RV.  We also celebrated Christmas in the RV and realized we don't need all the stuff.

I love to visit the local lighthouses either in Florida or other states. We visited three local lighthouses in the area.  St George Island Lighthouse on November 24, 2018. We went to Crooked River Lighthouse in Carrabelle, Florida on December 2, 2018.  Later on we went to St Marks Lighthouse in the St Marks Wildlife Refuge on December 20, 2018.

We sold crafts at the local Carrabelle Christmas festival on December 8, 2018.  Kim sold out of her bowl cozies. We used all of the money for Walt Disney World.

We got to visit the Manatees in Crystal River Florida on January 14, 2019. We also met up with friends that were staying close by.

We visited the Tallahassee Outdoor Museum which reminded me of an outdoor zoo.  We were there on January 21, 2109

We went to Walt Disney World, happiest place on earth, February 10 to February 16, 2019.  While Walt Disney World is geared for kids, Walt Disney owners and workers forget it is the adults that pay the cost to enter and enjoy.

We visited this little aquarium in Panacia, Florida, called the Gulf Specimen. More geared for kids, than adults, but it was fun.  You can touch the sea specimens.  We were there on March 21, 2019.

We left Carrabelle, Florida and Ho Hum RV Park on March 27, 2019.
