We left Carrabelle, Florida on the morning of Wednesday, March 27, 2019 and stopped at Grassy Pond RV Annex, near Valdosta Georgia. We were there March 27 - 31, 2019.
While here, we have had the opportunity to see The Crescent, a neat old home or plantation in the middle of Valdosta, Georgia.
We also visited a local Pecan Factory store and bought more flavored pecans than needed.
We rented a paddle boat for the local lake and afterward shot a game of pool. We ate at some of the local places and just spent a relaxing time after our work camp position. It was good to be back on the road again to see the local sites, states, and country.
I have to throw in my 2 cents worth about this location. It is about 30 miles from Moody AFB, Georgia. It is open to the public, most don't like the idea of allowing just anyone into an MWR Famcamp that is supposed to be for veterans. I understand the dilemma and sympathize with you. MWR could increase the price for civilians to use, and also reserve a certain amount of sites for the veterans, I think they could all live in harmony and also help this place stay open. I may not have the total answer for how this works, but its a start.
I have noticed in most places we have visited so far, a lack of upkeep and maintenance on the grounds, this place was no different.
